Papa Legba Workbook by Joseph Alexander Robicheaux
The newest guide to the underworld from Hadean Press is near and dear to my heart: Papa Legba: A Workbook by Ya sezi Bo Oungan, better known as Joseph Alexander Robicheaux. I don’t talk about it much because my work took a different direction (thanks in large part to intercession from Papa Legba) but Vodou is close to my heart and I maintain a small practice of my own that has had a big impact on my life. Back in the 90’s all I really had to go on was the Rigaud and Metreaux books, Louis Martine and Sally Glassmans Tarot, and some very good pithy advicve I managed to get from Max Beauvoir. I WISH I had this book back then.
Coming in at 24 pages this is one of the larger guide to the underworld pamphlets, but no space is wasted. You will dig right in to nature of Papa Legba, the songs, colors, recipes, and what the real deal is with his veve. This small book then takes a sharp turn left and delves into Kalfou, The hot mirror of Papa Legba.
This book forms an excellent cornerstone of practice, and can help lift the veil that eventually leads to initiation.
