The Book I have been MOST Looking Forward To This Year: Kamamudra: The Yoga of Bliss
There are a lot of great books that are being released this year. I did Elements of Spellcrafting, Aidan Watcher did Six Ways, and now Julio Cesar Ody’s book Magister Officiorum has officially been announced by Scarlet Imprint. But the book I am MOST looking forward to being released is Kamamudra, the Yoga of Great Bliss by Dr Nida Chenagtsang with a forward by Ben Joffe.
It is extremely difficult to find anything written on this subject in English that is not privately passed between initiates. What does exist falls into one of two catagories:
1. Books on Sacred Sex or Sex Magic that draw on Tibetan Tantra but are not presenting it straight up in that context. My own book “Sex Sorcery and Spirit” falls into the first category. I think its very handy for people that want to incorporate the methods of Kamamudra, but is certainly not a guide to any specific Tantric system.
2. Books that cover Kamamurdra written by Tibetan Scholars for other Tibetan Scholars. These books are GREAT and are my bread and butter, but without some training they are nearly indecipherable to the lay-practitioner.
Dr. Nida Chenagtsang has been teaching in a style that cuts the difference between these two extremes. He covers material in a frank and usable style, while still absolutely staying within the tradition. He writes like most Lamas teach when you are sitting in front of them face to face.
The book goes live in TWO DAYS, but you can read Ben Joffe’s forward right now.
I would also recommend picking up a copy of Path to Rainbow Body, which gives an overview of the entire Yuthok Nyingthig. I think this will help place these Kamamudra teachings in the proper context for those unfamiliar with the system.
