JUPITERIAN MAGIC IN A DETERIORATING WORLD
What I want to write about this week is my Jupiter Course and how registration for the third cycle is now open, but that seems kind of tone deaf with Russia invading Ukraine and the UN’s new report on climate change suggesting the next 18 years the world will be sicker, hungrier, poorer, gloomier and way more dangerous in the next 18 years with an “unavoidable” increase in risks.
So I sat in meditation this morning and considered pushing the course back a few months. In the end I came to the opposite conclusion; I want to write about the vision of Jupiter as I see it, and I think its more important than ever to do so. See, for me this is the influence the world needs right now.
What follows is a short re-conceptualization of Juputerian magic that should be useful to anyone involved in magic. After that are the links to my specific course. Whenever I write something generally useful that ties into a course of mine, I always lke to let people know so that they don’t feel they got tricked into reading advertizing disguised as an article. That is not what this is meant as.

I find that a lot of people have an unfortinate view of Jupiter.. They think only of Money and endless Expansion, the combination of which is causing a lot of suffering. And so, Jupiter has gotten a bit of a bad rap. Many in fact have declares their hatered of Jupiter. This is a profound mis-understanding.
For one thing, Jupiter is neither the god nor the planet of those who hoard wealth. That would be Pluto. In English, we literally call those people Plutocrats. Pluto rules the underworld where the resources are mined from. That said, Pluto is not to blame either, and those who learn to work with Jupiter properly learn the keys of approaching Pluto for resources.
Jupiter is a god of good governance and rulership. Jupiter is reflected in laws that grant more freedom and create more opportunity. Jupiter is also the god of benevolence When we meet someone who makes us laugh while uplifting everyone we literally call such people jovial.
Some see Jupiter as a god of Lightning and Wrath, and that is indeed his weapon, but Jupiter is not Thor: Jupiter is a god of the SKY, not lightning. He is the clear, vast, and vibrant sky.
I am increasingly dismayed at the degree to which magic is being reducded to either “dial-a-diety” magic where you make contact and beg for boons, or even worse, magicians and witches turning their life over to the gods entirely. Begging Deity-Dad for gifts or bowing my head with a resigned “Thy Will Be Done” is NOT what I got into Sorcery for, howabout you?
In my explorations of Jupiter I found a god in sort of retirement. This is not a power that wants more and more propitation, offerings, and worship. He wants to share his knowlege, his teachings, his qualities. The Jupiter that I am in contact with, if he wants anything, wants to spread Jovial qualities through the world, so that good governance can increase and humans can sort out our own fucking messes.
Invoke Jupiter to gain skylike clarity on what you want to achieve in life and why that is good.
Driven by this goal invoke Jupiter to gather resources and clear obstacles to this benevolent end.
Thats the key to Jupiter.
To the extent that money is almost always important in any human endeavor, we should absolutely call upon Jupiter to expand our wealth, but don’t forget Juno. The word “Money” comes from her epithet Juno Moneta. When you have a clear picture of a lifes work that benefits both you and others, you will see money as a good thing. One that Jupiter and Juno and innumerable spirits can aid you not only in accumulating, but in governing wisely and benevolently.
It’s all well and good to pray for Ukraine or “send Healing” to the earth, but such magic is cast so broadly that it doesn’t seem to have any measurable effect that I can notice. If however we take control of our lives, dedicate ourselves to benevolent works, and achieve wealth power and infliuence necessary to see them achieved, that can make a huge difference. If there is any magic more relevant to the tribulations that we face today, I don’t know what it could be.

JUPITER: The Sorcery of Achievement
This is a four-month course dedicated to harnessing the powers of Jupiter and activating them in your mind and in your world. This class is workable by anyone who wants to place serious focus and effort on achieving their life’s work – whatever that may be. This “life output” does not need to be financial – though we will be covering financial magic as part of this. It is quite simply the impression that you hope to leave on world when you leave. That can be your role as a parent, as an artist, as a businessperson, or as a magus.
Anything that you can look back on and say “I did this. It was good.”
Every course I teach does not just focus on different powers, but different methods and operations. If you join this course thinking that you want a Jupiter Altar to keep and tend, or historical Greco-Roman worship, you will be disappointed. This course has less to do with invoking the aid or Jupiter and Juno, than it does in becoming as they are. The methods involve the integration of skillful mind, practical magic, and constant accountability.
Here is how the course does its magic lesson by lesson:
- The Jovian Mind – In this lesson we learn how to cultivate the underlying skylike clarity and qualities of Jupiter. Everything that follows is based on this.
- Pluto Jupiter Column- This lesson focuses on deciding upon your benevolent aim and taught how to draw resources to you so that light of wisdom you cultivate can shine outwardly in rays of action.
- Fear and Focus- The moment that you decide to undertake something truly great, you will be beset by fear and doubt. Everyone is. This leasson teaches the alchemy necessary to turn fear into focus, and dread into drive!
- The Jupiter Pact – In this lesson we make a pact with four wisdom goddesses and learn how to link their Sorcery to Strategic Plans.
- The Lightning And the Stone – A purely sorcerous lesson focused on Joves lightning and the stone into which it strikes.
- Strategic Serendipity – We can have a solid aim. We can have good governance. We can have access to resources. We can have tools for dealing with obstacles. Sometime though, all you need is a bit of luck.
- Imperium – A lesson in harnessing the power and potency of Jupiters seals and emblems.
- The Metis Point – The course begins by teaching you how to cultivate the vast skylike awareness of Jove. It ends with by focusing a single point from which endless wisdom and cunning flows.
