Jupiter on the go

As it happened I needed to be on the road all day on Thursday and did not take any tools with me. Does that mean I missed the Jupiter Election?

HELL NO! I used Magic on the go!
Step 1: Get materials. I could have done it on paper, but that would be too easy so instead I stopped by a quality Paint store and purchased a bag of Lambskin strips for $5.

For those that are not hip to this, Lambskin of often used by painters to apply polyurethane. Most places have pads, but good stores will also have bags of loose strips of 100% Lambskin. Just pick a strip and cut or shave the excess wool (unless you want a wooly talisman to make an orgona pad out of, but that is a post for another day). While I was there I grabbed a Blue Pen. Afterward, I zipped by a Catholic Church for some Holy Water.

Step 2. Find a small park. I make it a point to have a list of quiet and scenic places that are mostly empty. This makes it easy to do some magic or meditation. When I lived in teh city I even knew what floors of certain buildings were empty or being worked on. Nothing beats doing magic or meditating on an empty 20th floor looking out over the city.

Step 3. Prep tools and perform a zone rite (if you want). Specifically I went to my little corner of the park and before the election, I made an offering to the spirits in the park, as well as the powers that be in the neighborhood, city, county, etc. I performed a quick and silent zone rite, and meditated until the election.

Step 4. Bless the skin and pen with the holy water using short verses. Performed short invocation of Jupiter and began chanting the seed vowel of Jupiter. As I chant, I draw my Jupiter seals in blue on the lambskin and perform a short consecration on the spot.

That is it.  If I had books and stuff with me I might have chosen different words and symbols, but I did not so I relied upon the stuff that I have memorized.

Point being, you should never feel that you need a big temple space to do magic. Chances are you did not have one when you started out, and once you get one it is easy to forget how effective you can be without one.

Btw: if anyone needs some lambskin, I have a lot left over.

Nicely done! This is also a good example of why it’s handy to have things memorized. I’m not into memorization for the most part, but there are a few things I have taken the time to commit to memory, and I’ve been well served on a number of occasions by that simple exercise of self-discipline.

I keep an art bag in the car, and several art apps on my phone and computer for such art or magical emergencies. But I stocked up on ingredients for this particular election. My lady and I both made talisman bags, and she was called to make a third for a friend and professional colleague of ours — who reports top-notch mojo from it so far. A well-run election all around, I’d say.

Why does it need to be lamb skin? Can’t you let them mature and live out their life first?

I am not sure, but I am assuming it has to be young to get a good coat of polish.

For the talisman, it doesn’t have to be. I was on the road, and wanted to use a natural substance that I could mark with a pen.
