Between the Worlds

I spent this weekend at the Between the Worlds Conference in Wilmington, where I taught classes on Financial Magic and Strategic Sorcery. A lot of process coming in from the conference and I have to say that a the main ritual, which I did not put a lot of stock in at first, it hitting me nicely. The Assembley of the Sacred Wheel continues to impress me, and of course it was great to catch up with Ivo Dominguez, Michael Smith, Maggi Setti and other old friends.

It was even better to make new connections:

  • Dolores Ashcroft Nowicki: I used to read her books when I was in High School, and even remember staying up all night doing her vigil to be a guardian of the land. When I found out I would be on a panel with her about practical magic, I was kind of paranoid that I would say something that would piss her off. I mean, what do you say if Dolores turns to you and says in her soft British grandma voice: “You sir, are completely full of shit”. Thankfully that did not happen.
  • John Michael Greer: A lot of fun to talk to, and even more fun to have at your side when you almost get into a bar fight with a business traveller.
  • Jacki Smith of Coventry Creations is a mistress of Financial Sorcery. She totally knows her shit AND her products are great. I am test driving some right now.
  • After more than a decade of talking online in the Chthonic Auranian Temple forums,  I finally got to meet Sam Webster in the flesh.
  • Chris Penczak, T. Thorn Coyle, Katrina Messenger, Aeptha, and many others all made a great impression on me.
I really need to get out to more conferences and festivals like this. There is inspiration that comes when two or more magicians meet that is hard to beat in any other way.

Damn, I wish I was there, but unfortunately I didn’t knew about it untill too late, and didn’t had time to prepare. Things get more complicated if you’re in another continent (and I travel almost every year to the US in the Summer for a magical gathering).
You almost got into a bar fight ? What happened ?

On a side note, this lady is no magician (as far as I know), but it is an example of strategic thinking

I was able to attend (did so at my intuitions calling, a series of premonitions and dreams) and took your “Going Pro” class, wonderful and enjoyed it very much. Worth the plane trip from down south! Great conference!
