Crucible 2016
Crucible is coming on October 1st. One of my favorite events precisely because its small, intimate, and different.
This year I am giving a talk called: READ TAROT LIKE A FORTUNE TELLER
It specifically focuses on the Tarot deMarseille and the cartomantic style of reading that focuses on plain interpretation of image, folk meaning, and relation between the cards. I have been reading like this for about three years now, and whenever I read for someone that approaches Tarot from a Quabalistic or other esoteric background they are completely thrown by it. The Tarot deMarseilles is gaining in popularity lately thanks to luminaries like Camelia Elias, Enrique Enriquez and others.
In this class I am going to present the differences between esoteric reading styles and cartomanic reading styles, as well as advocate for the Tarot deMarseilles as opposed to the thousands of Esoteric decks out there. More than anything though, I want to take readers and replace their fear of being wrong, with a fear of being vague.
But that’s just me. As always Crucible presents a mix of “larger names” with emerging occultists and local people that you might not get to hear elsewhere.
Carolyn Elliott of the amazing Bad Witch wants to get kinky and existential with you.
Gerry O’Sullivan, Ph.D.,author of “The Continuing Quest for Montague Summers”, is going to talk about his quest for answers on the disreputable cleric.
Lanie Peterson of Talk Gnosis is gonna give a talk on Gurdjieff and the Fourth Way.
and of course Arthur will be speaking on Omnimancy – it is the Omnimancers that host Crucible.
