I was thinking about joining Sorcery of Hekate, BUT….
1. The timing right now is bad:
Then don’t join right now. I have no plans on going anywhere and this course is available at least twice a year.
2. I can’t afford it/it would be a major financial stretch
It’s tough out there, and anyone can find themselves in this situation. My advice is: don’t join a premium course now.
I did a free class on YouTube called “Strategic Sorcery for the Financially Stuck”. Anything I have to say about using magic to get un-stuck is in this video. It doesn’t reference anything that costs over $20. I wrote a book called Financial Sorcery that is available in paperback which may also help.
3. I don’t have space for an altar
While a lot of students decide to keep a permanent altar, it’s not necessary for the course. Students have completed the course while living in college dorms and on Oil Rigs.
4. I am worried about keeping the commitments
You will almost certainly miss a day here and there. Heck, I miss a day here and there. I even take planned breaks from time to time. I do the reparations and get back on the horse. There is no penalty for missing a day, and Hekate doesn’t get mad or anything like that. If you break the thread of practice you pick it up again or start fresh. That simple.
5. I don’t want to offer alcohol or meat
None are strictly required, but there are non-alcoholic and non-meat based solutions for everything.
6. I work with other spirits as well
So do I. Just do those practices or honor those spirits as you have been and do this practice as well.
7. I have heard that you shouldn’t mix this practice with others – even gods of the same pantheon.
Yes. That’s correct but it’s not a matter of jealousy, its a matter of co-ordination. Is Hekate jealous?
Imagine if, in the middle of a production of Hamilton, someone dressed as Ben Franklin ran on the stage and started interacting with the cast. – It would throw the whole thing off. Yes, he is from the same time and place (ie: the same pantheon) but he isn’t part of this production and all the other parts are arranged carefully to interact with each other in a specific way.
