MY JOURNEY WITH ST CYPRIAN
Yesterday someone noted that my Black School of St Cyprian appeared around the time that Worship of St Cyprian was becoming popular. This is true.
It appeared at that time because I don’t just pop out courses. I work the material for years, then test it among small groups of people. I also had to be asked to do it three times. Them’s the rules.
I first encountered St Cyprian in 2005 or so when a friend from Peru gave me a Charm Vial amulet with a small soapstone image of St Cyprian inside. Intrigued by the idea of a Sorcerer Saint I started where I always start: RESEARCH
I followed research with prayer. In 2006 I started doing regular work with St Cyprian, authoring my first prayer to him that I published in my Live Journal back in the day. https://inominandum.livejournal.com/144323.html?thread=414915
In 2007 I wrote an article for Behutet Magazine called “The Cult of St Cyprian”. There was practically nothing written on St Cyprian in English at that time, and it predates Conjure Man Ali’s pamphlet and the wealth of Cyprianic material that has been produced since. The article was picked up later that year by Michael Howard and published in The Cauldron.
In 2013, still not many books out on St Cyprian and before the whole thing exploded, I published my Sorcerer’s Call to St Cyprian http://www.inominandum.com/blog/the-call-of-st-cyprian/, which has been picked up and used by many practitioners.
Three Years ago I opened by Black School Course to teach a system of magic that is built upon both Research and Revelation. It has been a good success for most of the people who have worked it, and I am quite proud of the result.
So, yes, the Black School opened after St Cyprian was already popular. Kind of after the height of the Cyprian craze actually. But I am proud to be able to say that I was one of the people who contributed, in whatever small way, to making St Cyprian as well known as he is. That was always the plan, to serve the spirit and spread his name and teachings.
Spirits become popular for a reason: their influence being right for this particular time and place.
The Black School is opening its doors again in just two weeks! If you think this might be something you are interested in, check it out.
