Christopher Bradford on the Phurba: Sorcery of the Razor Nail

Among the folks that took the first cycle of PHURBA: SORCERY OF THE RAZOR NAIL was none other than Christopher Bradford. This is what he had to say:

“I’ve never had the opportunity to properly explore any of the sorcerous side of the Buddhist tradition. Through visits to temple with a dear friend of mine and her mother — who turned me on to Ken Wilber back in the day and got me deep into exploring consciousness — I developed a deep respect for their approach, and a curiosity about the work involved.

Like many I read the Tibetan Book of the Dead and saw parallels with things I’d experienced while working the western alchymies (that spelling is only for folks who’ve spent at least one month’s rent/mortgage on glassware, before learning Properly about the Philosopher’s Retort. I also get to say ‘Formulae’) , and realized that these folks knew things that I didn’t, had understanding I didn’t have, and had made plain things that were hidden for ages in the West.
My work as a Palero has taken up a ton of time — not wanting to be a dilettante, I never reached out to learn more until I thought I could genuinely apply myself and make what I learned part of who I was. I’ve been studying and working in Palo long enough (mastery is the work of a lifetime, of course)  that I can take a breath, and delve into other wisdoms as well. That of the Phurba spoke to me. It covers a range of understanding that is explored in quite a different way than the Bantu traditions, and i felt the PULL. Y’all know what I mean.
So…being one of very few persons blessed with a dear friend who is also an adept in the Tibetan tradition, I reached out and connected to Jason, and he planted a seed. Not much longer he let me know about his course with the Phurba, and I jumped on it with both feet.
I’m so, so glad I did. Just the first couple lessons and I knew I had to pay attention, to focus, and that the depth of what was being taught would require dedication and exploration. I saw pretty immediate signs of connection and Liveliness… sometimes when someone teaches you a thing, and transmits it to you, when you hold it in your mind it’s like a holding a garden hose full of water, or an insulated electric line. It’s vivifying. That’s what we have here…a live one. I also really enjoyed that after releasing lessons there’s a proper Q&A session for getting clarity on what was taught. Super comprehensive system for learning in a modern way.
I can’t recommend this course enough. Would have saved me a lot of random research and practice years ago. Grab a hold of it, if there are any spots left!
